Well I, for one, am thankful for the late season. I got an eight point yesterday morning and saw three other antlered bucks. Saw over 20 deer in all. Might still get out for another bow hunt but it's going to have to warm up some.

I passed up a few with the slug gun on Friday. Len went to the same spot yesterday AM and missed a nice buck but did manage to blast a doe with his smoke pole. He doesn't take many prisoners. He told me he's at 17.

Down here in South Carolina, rifle season opens in October and runs non stop until January first. We can shoot either sex every Friday and Saturday and have a 2 deer per day and 10 deer total for the season.

If you want to bow hunt, that is fine too, but you have to hunt the same deer that other people are hunting with rifles. My trick is to walk farther than anybody else and I can fine deer that nobody are hunting. There are a couple of areas where it is only open to archery.
