I was looking between my post and GMMAT's post andi seen and herdall about mounts and taxidermy. Im 19yo, and i want to get started in it myself, how did you guys who mount your own get started, i know of a taxidermy course at a local comm. college would that be the best way to start?What kind of profit is accociated withgood quality work??I think it would be a great way to make money on the side. I could be underestimating the whole deal though.

From what I have read, it all depends on your skill/competition in the area, getting your name out there. competitive prices...just like any other business i guess.

I have a friend who does it full time. I learned how to mount my own by watching him and helping him out in my spare time. See if a local taxi would be willing to train you or if he needs some help. I think learning from an actual taxi has its benefits over a school course. Just keep in mind a taxis busiest time of year is during hunting season. So you might be giving up valuable hunting time for your part time job.
