Default Camera placement

I was watching an episode of getting close a week or two ago and they were talking about placing trail cams. Lee said that he placed his cams higher and downward so that when triggered the deer assumes the flash as more of a lightning strike. Anyone do this? How do you place your cams to get the best results?

i have mine eye level with the deer, never had any problems. The elevated things make a tremendous amount of sense though...

These deer have brains the size of a small pear. I think too many people give them too much credit.

I place mine 15-18' from my mineral site.....and I have many, many shots of deer in successive shots....even at night...with the flash. I don't want to have to take a ladder to check my trail cam.
