How far do you walk?

It varies. My closest hunting spots are about 100 yards away from the truck and my furthest are about a mile up a wooded mountain, which is bad for bringing in my stand, pack, sticks, etc., but good for dragging deer out.

Wow that amazes me how far some of you guys walk. I'm not saying any of you guys are exagerating but i know alot of people around here do. I've met very few people who are willing or actually do walk a mile or two through PA woods, let alone finding a piece of land where that is neccesary (so many roads around that can cut the distance). I take my GPS everytime and most of my spots are 1/2 mile or less.

I hunt mostly farm land where the deer are used to pickup trucks so I park wherever it is convenient. Sometimes as close as 100 yds from my stand. Two yrs ago I had to wait for a doe to move away from the side of my truck before I could shoot her. She was only about 30 yds from my truck which was directly in my line of fire.

100 yards would be the closest and 1/2 mile to 3/4s of a mile would be the furthest during archery season.Rifle season is a whole other story.I helped a friend last year drag a buck from way back in.It took two hours to get to a logging road and five hours to get to the truck.
