Default Climbing Sticks or Screw In Steps?

Okay, I bit the bullet and bought a hang on stand. I'm usually a climber kinda guy. Do you hang on types like screw in steps or climbing sticks best? Why?

other than being difficult to transport, i like to use old tv antennas, just strap em to the tree and you are up there 20 foot or more. i use climbing sticks as well.

i voted climbing sticks, even though i use steps....screw in steps are the devil[:'(], as waterboys mom would tell you. Saw in bass pro where strongbuilt has 20 ft climbing sticks for 50 bucks. great deal, i think it would probably be more money to buy enough steps to get that high, not to mention ALOT more work. if you do go with the steps, get the drill bit to install them, cuz after one or two trees of screwin em in by arm, you are practically dead.

Most State and Federal land does not allow screw in steps! I think the sticks are safer, a big plus!

I use climbing sticks ... why you ask , I'll tell you , I find them easyer to use and set - up.
Sure there a pain to carry in but thats why I put them on my game cart along with my stand.
Once I get to the tree I wanna put my stand in , I just put the sticks together and make sure there good and secure on to the tree.
Then get my stand up and cable lock everything , sticks too andI'mgood to go it's just that simple.

i like both for different areas. Somedays i decide to hunt a totally different area, and i take the screw ins because ther are easier to transport. But i do like both

Not if you use Cranford Ezy Climb treesteps. No drill or installer needed!

I use the Cranford steps because my hangons are left up all season on private land, sometimes I move them but they are always up. If you are taking your hangon with you on most hunts or hunting public land then sticks are the way to go.

I use both. Sometimes screw ins are more versatile, but I like the sticks better and plan on getting more of them next time I buy a stand.

i like the ameristep ladder sections that can be mounted seperately. with a set of 4 and a well placed limb or two, i can get 22 - 25' in the air, but I'm half monkey. [8D]
