Default What is it?

Saturday I went to get my trailcam. It was about 6:30 so I wanted to sit and glass a field till dark. So at 7:30 a Basket 8 a big spike and this 3 pt wander the field edge. I can see the 3pt is missing the other side and I can see a black..something.. below the eye on the missing antler side.

Well when I get home a couple pics are of that buck. Any guesses as to what it is?

I'd "guess" it was either a part of a deformed antler.....or a part still "attached" that either hasn't fallen off or isn't going to.

He broke his left side off, but not compeltely. Probably happened early in growth, and it is still holding on, but not growing anymore.

Man I'd have to disagree..unless it's growing from that point. I saw the deer in person it didn't go behind the head and it didn't come from the top of the head. But I dunno..thats whyI asked.

I thought it was a "mole" or something.

I'd be more concerned about the orange bigfoot eye reflection in the background!

I would have to guess that it's a deformed antler growing down the side of his head.

Bob, I'd have to bet too that the buck broke his pedicle and the antler is growing down at that angle, even could be under the skin coming out in that exact area. The end, tip is consistant with the black tip of an antler in the growth stage. Other than that, a tumor, we won'tknow until you get a quality photo of it....or you'll see it in person. I hope both.
