Definitely antler growth from a damaged pedicle.
I still have this guy running around on my place. No recent pics of him, but he is 2.5 y/o in these pics and they are 2 years old. He should be a slammer this year. Neighbor saw him last year as a 3.5 but didn't shoot him.

I agree with RJ and Rob, it looks like a damaged pedicle. I shot a buck one year that had antler growing down the side of his jaw and when I cut the skull you could see the pedicle had been broken out of the skull, twisted upside down and healed that way. It's amazing what deer can survive.

Awesome Pic's Matt...those definitely show an Antler can grow right down alongside the face of a deer!
