Feathers and BH's

RE: Feathers and BH's
I know that, Arthur....but my shooting is mostly done inside 30 yds. So....if feathers are "all that" in short situations (and I'm not saying they aren't for longer, also)....why NOT shoot them?
It would make me feel better about spending what I do on feathers, anyway!!

RE: Feathers and BH's
Jeff I shoot 4" and 5" shield cut feathers out of my old glory. I'ved used trueflight and gateway. I like trueflight a little better because the bases seem to be ground a little more even but I have used both with excellent results. I also use fletching tape which saves you from making a mess with glue. Well actually I put a small dab on the front and the back of each feather to keep the ends from peeling up. But the tape works great and you can go right out and shoot them when done fletching, No glue drying time needed.

What about a RH or LH like I see advertised? I think my trad arrows are RH.
I think they're gateways.....and I think they LOOK like 5".

I use right helical Jeff but it really doesn't matter. But you do have to make sure you get the correct feathers that match your fletching jig. If you have a right helical or offset jig get right wing feathers, and vice versa.

Jeff - I'd recommend either the 4" gateways, or the rayzrs for your compound arrows. I'm sure your bow is tuned right, so you don't need a giant dragging force on the back of your arrow to stabilize it.
