A little note to you guys who are hunting HH, and I quote from the KY hunting guide "A deer hunter shall not take an antlered deer with an outside spread of less than 15 inches at any time."
Make sure the antlers are outside the ears before taking a buck, I don't want to see anyone take a chance on getting a fine and losing equipment. Does are okay.
Hunt happy and safe.

You mean it's not a 'if its brown its down' hunt!?!? I'm not going--that's too exclusive for me!

Yes and no.

If it is brown with no antlers by all means take it down. With your permit you get a doe tag also.

If it is brown and antlers are outside the ears, take it down

Unless you bought an extra doe tag along with your non-resident either sex deer permit, I wouldnt advise killing a doe until the last couple hours on the last day of your hunt...Your regular deer permit is either sex, but only good for (1) deer, buck or doe, your decision.

Did I read this wrong?

Non-Resident Deer Permit – Required to hunt deer. Entitles the holder to two deer

I could take a doe and a buck correct? I am going to call.

Just got off the phone with DNR kentucky.

1-800-858-1549 is the number.

I was told I can take 2 deer with Non-Resident Lic
Doe & Buck
Doe & Doe

I suggest you call for yourself telling them Germ said so will not fly.

I took the ladies information and wrote it down for myself

Direct from KY Rules and regs

STATEWIDE DEER PERMIT
• All license-required deer hunters must buy
and carry proof of purchasing a statewide
deer permit while deer hunting.
• This permit allows hunters to take two
deer as follows: One with visible antler
and one without visible antler, OR
both may be without visible antler. It
doesn’t matter if hunters take an antlered
or antlerless deer first. Antlered
deer should be recorded on the back
of this permit (not a bonus antlerlessonly
permit).
• Only one (1) statewide deer permit is
valid per hunter per season.

You know you guys have a book and a website
I always make sure to read the regs. I re-read MI every year.

BTW KY has the ideal tag system in the Lower 48 IMO. I am very impressed.

I could have answered that for you Germ but I am a little late. You can purchase extra bonus tags and kill up to 4 deer in that zone so if someone is looking to stack up on does, they are there for the taking.
