Due to the severe drought conditions so far this summer in S.E. Idaho, I think this will be banner year for bow killed antelope. Stay long enoughon a secluded water hole, and at least a decent buck should be there for the taking. Throw in adecoy, shouldn't be to difficult.

I did it last year for about 2 weeks till rain finally came. In mid-august I found a spot on a 1 1/2 mile stretch of a creek that still had a little water, it was so stagnant it was almost black, but the bank was tore up around it. I filled in the stagnant hole and dug one of my own about 10yds away a little deeper. The little bit of water that was underground mad about 4 inches in the bottom of the new hole and was much cleaner. Opening day saw 5 does, 2 bucks, 2 fawns,1 fox, 5 coons and a stray dog all drink from it within about an hour. It works, just have to try for yourself. (I didnt plan on hunting the water hole, I just didnt want the deer to move off and find a new source. This experience happened because of little rain for a month or so and LOTS of luck)

If we don't get some rain a watering hole will be a good place to hunt this fall, has any body ever used this tactic
