I use them, like others have mentioned, with my clothes and ziplock bags...they smell strong! I want to get one of those for the rut because I only have the earth scent.
I like the fact that the last like...FOREVER!

I also like to go scent free but since I sweat like crazy I need some cover scent...

I have mixed feelings on them.

I throw a set of the earth scent ones in the plastic bag with my hunting clothes and I'm not sure of their effectiveness. I do not place much faith in the effectiveness of their rut scent though. I have watched bucks walk right past a new set of them and pay them no mind.. This has happened more than once and the bucks didn't even seem to notice them.

Im in between with these things.
I have bought so many of these things its not funny i used to love hunting with them but i have noticed after much review that they tend to "know something is there" whenver i use them, i dont get busted but they just smell somethin and look around. again i think this year i am just going to go scent free that way they dont smell anything. I agree they help cover up scent but if i keep my scent to a minimum i shouldnt have to cover it up. I also think if you do get busted using the scent they could start to analyze humans with that particular scent. The fresh earth smells good but i used the white oak acorn last year and i beleive after being spotted by them once they started recognizing that scent and tucked tail. I have a very hard time believing that acorns smell that strong and exactly like that. However the earth scent may be more effective.

steve,

Yeah, they know something is there/different, I hung an earth wafer in a tree next to my stand
about 20 feet away and I got a whiff of the the thing!

I quit using them b/c I don't think they duplicate the "earth" I hunt and it's just another strong foreign smell.

As for the doe scent and all that, well you are trying to get them to smell that and it's not for cover,
so I dunno.

My 2 cents.

I use them as a cover scent along with my other scent control measures.

Scent free is definitely the way to go, but the wafers do work well.I have some that I have used for a couple years now, but I mainly use them for extra cover and masking scent.
