The Most Times You Have Let Down and Still Taken The Animal
I had an experience a few years ago where I drew back on abuck three times before he presented a suitable shot.He was milling around in the 25 to 35 yard range eating acorns. He would just not give me a shot, draw and hold, draw and hold, finally I was able to shoot, when he gave me a decent quartering away.

Season before last I drew on a buck as he was approaching and just as I did, he turned straight towards me and stopped. Luckily there was a big enough tree between us to allow me to let down without him seeing me. Shortly afterwards, he turned broadside and stopped to lick his back...giving me the chance to draw and take the 18 yd shot. That's the only time I've let down and then get another opportunity to draw.

I've very rarely let down then drawn again on the same animal. I don't draw until the shot is presented and I intend to shoot NOW. Draw, aim and shoot, just like that. From tournament shooting I've learned that if I have to hold longer than 10 seconds, my accuracy is seriously degraded.

I've let down once on a few animals and still killed them. I don't recall drawing more than that and still pulling it off. I also don't remember them spooking, just not giving me a shot.
