I'm not sure what you mean. What I meant was that I can stand and shoot as long as I have 70" to the ceiling. If I'm kneeling, I need much much less, even with a 70" longbow.
Yes. I misunderstood.

I think we have about (67") clear to the ceiling. I'd need to work within that parameter.

but I don't understand, Bobco.....

At 6'2"....you're already at 74".....and the bow has to be above your head height....even if canted.

????????????????????????????????????????????????

I think you missed the 'kneeling' part. Plus, hardly anyone shoots a longbow (barebow recurve either, for that matter) with the kind of ramrod straight posture most use when shooting compounds/sights. You're kind of humped over and leaning into the cant to get your eye directly over the arrow. That's how you get more clearance than what you'd think possible.

Maybe I did, Arthur.....but this is what I was going on..,,,,,

Maybe when Bob cants the bow...he cants his head, too (which is why I asked him).

It's really more than a head cant. It's a full body thing. Knees flexed and loose. A bit of bend at the waist. Then the head cant on top of all that. It's a pretty laid back and relaxed shooting style and you can vary the amount of bend in your knees as well as the amount of cant you use to accomodate different situations. It's the relationship between the head, eye, arrow and draw length all remaining constant, that's the key.

Athur is correct.

Me from a prior post:

I just bend my knees, hunch a little and cant.
And yes, my head position adjusts with the cant, it has to in order to keep the same anchor.

Thanks, Bob.

This all might come about rather quickly. I want one!

Let's talk arrows. I shoot a/c/c 3-71's now.....way overspined for my setup on the compound. ANY chance I could shoot these with a longbow?
