Connecting cord for Drop Zone?
#1
I realize this may need to be in the technical forum, so if it needs to be moved, please move.
I am trying to connect the actuator(sp?) cord from my drop zone rest to the down buss cable. I do not have access to a press, so is there any way to serve this cord to the cable rather than into the cable. I know there has to be a way to do this without the end result allowing the cord to slide up the cable at draw. Please Help....

Your best bet would be to get a cable slide with a hole in it......Run the cord through said hole, and using a nock set will keep it in place. You're gonna use 2 eventually, but just use one until you get the cord as tight as it needs to be so the rest's timing is correct. Then crimp on a second nock set to hold it in place.
You may try using nock sets to crimp it to the cable, but to do it right you really need to run the cord through the cable. If that's just not an option, the new cable slide is your best bet......In fact, I think I have one for a Bowtech.......Let me double check and if you want it, it's yours....

They do make a clamp to connect the cord to the cable, its pretty easy just sandwiches the cord and cable between two pieces of plastic.

Thanks for reminding me mobow. I had changed out my cable slide to the white teflon slide. I did keep my old slide though. Man, everyone needs a memory like mine.[:-]
Boy's got a mine like a steel trap I tell ya. Thing is, it's done sprung.

As mentioned, the DZ Cord Clamp would be a good way to go if you don't want to seperate the string. Some also tie the same knot as they use for their D-loop to secure ther DZ's and then just serve above the rope. Many different attachment methods work well for a DZ. Good luck and good shootin'

That's how mine is attached.
On a side note, I'm not a big fan of my DZ. Ijust set up my new bow 4 weeks ago and have not been realy happy with it. It seems to be loud.Anyone know a good way to quiet it down?
If I weren't 500 miles from my proshop, I'd be switching back to the shakey hunter.

Dan, try putting an extra 2 O-rings in the bottom of the rest under the drop bar on the 2 screws. Mine is really quiet like this.
