My buddy is progressing, nicely......

RE: My buddy is progressing, nicely......
Those are two different bucks. The beginning of July seems to be when most of the antler growth occurs and he would have had to put on a good bit of antler in just a 5 day time frame. Not only is the right side bigger in the latest picture, but so is the mass and main beam length. Also, it appears that the bigger of the bucks has more of an upward sweeping curve to his main beams. Either way, good luck putting your tag in one of them.

Guys....
I know when I'm in over my head. I don't know if he's the same or not. I think it's a good discussion, and right now I think it could go either way.

Guys.....Is this amount of recovery in this short a time even POSSIBLE?
Check the dates!
No, I don't think its possible. I think its two different deer. The one with the full rack has more white hair on the inside of his front left leg. (That could be caused by the flash though.)
Look at the brow tines although similar the full racks brows look to go more straight, while the other bucks are a little curved in. Also his left brow has a little bump toward the tip.

gmmat I have thousands of trail cam pics and I have bucks with odd racks. Small on one side and larger on the other, very simular to yours. I haven't yet seen one side catch up to the other if it was an odd rack in the summer it was a odd rack in the fall. Never the less you got some or a nice deer there.

If they're different deer......ONLY the latest one has my undivided attention (as far as bucks go). I think my '06 buck would score higher than the 7/17 photo'd deer.
