Default Fixed Broadheads and eratic flight

I shelled out thecash for a set of slicks tricks in which I am in my 3rd season with them.I'm thinking this almost $30with shipping. It just seems a little steep.

It seems like most broadheads would have to fly fairly decent or they wouldn't sell them and why not just go to wally world at the end of the season and pick some up on clearance...

I don't have enough KE to shoot a mechanical.

Hasanyone really had a bad experience with a fixed head.

Tuning, that's the key to fixed heads.

I don't know what poundage you shoot or what your total KE is but my wife shot 2 black bears in Alberta using Rage 2 blade mechanicals. Both shots were clean pass throughs with amazing blood traisl and incredible entry and exit holes. These head open rearward not over the top like a lot of mechanicals and they fly just like a field point. Give'em a try.

also if your bow is in tune, not having the shafts squared can cause erractic flight.

As far as Slick Tricks being expensive, you have no idea what other heads cost then. They are definitely on teh low end of the cost spectrum when compared with other heads.

Tuning is also the key to shooting fixed blade heads.

You need to download the Easton Tuning Guide and follow it to the "T".

You're bow isn't close to tune if you can't get those low profile bh's to fly.

Take the necessary time and effort to tune your set-up. Don't fall into the pit and "think" a mechanical is going to cure all. If you're having flight distrurbance now, penetration will be non existant shooting either fixed or mechanical.

You owe it to the game you hunt to insure your equipment is properly set-up.

Tune the bow, spin your arrows, square the ends of the shafts.

Something is up with your equipment. With the ST's design you should have no trouble getting them to fly like field points.
