One more to the wish list for Oct. 1st.
I got a pic of this one Sunday off of the trail camera, he is on the wish list for this fall maybe what do you think. He was a 6 last year, was about 15" wide then if its the same buck. He sure would be a good one next year or next. This is not but about 150 yds from the camp but it is THICK in there, age an score anyone.

Give him 1 more year. Nice rack and body but I'm guessing maybe 2- 2.5yrs. Let him grow.

I figure he is 2.5 this year also, hard to say, he will look different in about 3 months when he starts rutting an putting on the lbs.

I couldn't pass him up in my area...but if you can pass him up to grow. I say do it.

The area that I hunt in there are so many woodlots an fields, no telling wherehe will be in Oct, but will not forget to try an cross paths with him.

While his rack does look a little thin, if that was a 2.5 in my area, that would be one awesome 2.5.

That deer is most definatly older than 2.5 years old! Whitetail look much different in the fall and look thin in the summer. But you can still notice the sagging belly of a mature deer (even with the summer coat). 3.5+ year old or older.. and more than likely a 4.5+ year old.
If that was a 2.5 (no way) it would be showing AMAZING genetics. |
