Mobility is top of the pros. Comfort at least for the Summit model I have.

It may take you longer to get set up but once you get the hang of it you should be able to do it quier and quick

Which one did you buy?

I bought the Summit Razor a couple years back and absolutely love it.

PROS:
Don't have to worry about theft since I carry it in with me every trip
I can setup just about anywhere with it
COMFORTABLE

CONS
I get tired of lugging that sucker around each time I go hunting
I sweat more with it on my back
Possibility of making unnecessary noise during setup

Trust me, the pros outweigh the cons.

I like climbers myself. very versatile and you take it with you so it won't get stolen . The down side is doesn't always work on very large trees or one with branches in the way

I have a Summitt climber as well. Pros are mobility and comfort. Cons are you are limited to trees you can climb and hauling it around, even though it doesn't bother me at all.

My opinion, if you hunt several spots, a climber is ideal instead of several hang ons. If you always hunt a particular spot, get a hang on or ladder or two. I have a cheap hang at the spot I hunt on our land, due to terrain I really can't use my climber where I would like. Hope this helps, good luck.

The Summit Viper is very nice and light at only 22lbs for the mass and padding. I mostly use a hang-on stand as I hunt private property. If you get used to a comfortable stand you may not like the hang-on style because of the lack of mass and shooting rail, arm rests and back rest. Make sure you have a light one of your packing it very far because you don't want to work up a sweat getting into the woods and climbing your tree... good luck!

Bring a few steps with you just in case the perfect tree has a few low obsticals you need to get above before climbing.

Good choice. The razor is great because you have the comfort of a climbing bar to rest your behind on while climbing andyou can lower it under the seat once at yourdesiredpoint.I don't like a bar restricting me.[:'(]

Ideally, you eventually want to own a climber (I've got a couple Summits; absolutely rock-solid and comfortable enough to sleep in) AND several fixed-position stands.

That way, you'll have the choice of extreme mobility and running-and-gunning, and have several already up in key or likely spots.
