Horrible Shot!
#1
Was watching a show on MOR the other day, and a guy took a shot w/ a bow that was despicable.
The deer was walking straight towards him, slightly quartered. And he arrowed the deer in the top of the back. Now he did recover the deer (didnt show how long it took) But the deer ran off w/ the arrow stickin out his back and only a few inches of penetration.
Personally I would never take a shot like that! Extremely likely you'd never recover the deer, unless you got lucky and hit the spinal cord.
At the angle he shot, the exit wound woulda been back towards deer's reproductive organs. IF he was lucky to get a pass threw.
Disgusting that they put it on TV then people will think its a reasonable shot location![:@]

I posted a similar thread the other week. Could have been the same show....and I agree they shouldn't have aired it. I sent them an e-mail telling them how I felt.....whether they read it or not.....I'll never know.

Maybe it should be required to take an Archery Education Course to make a hunting show. Sure seems to be more and more bad shots taken andall in an effort to put a show together to push a sponsered product on us.

It wasnt Closing the Distance.
I think it was Whitetail Properties. I have it on DVR so I'll watch it again tonight. Even worse that its happening more than once.

you would think that if they were able to produce a hunting show that they would have some kind of sense about putting thing like bad shots on their show. they do nothing but give all of us a bad name

I know the shot your talking about. Even my wife [who doesn't hunt] thought it was terrible. I thought for a second I was watching Ted Nugent, Except this buck was pretty nice.

I haven't seen these videos but I am amazed that they would choose to air that kind of footage.
Its bad enough that it happened, but then they decide that is good enough to show on the air. [:@]
Maybe we should send a boycott letter on behalf of HNI members, or better yet,
the sponsors need to say they won't advertise for that kind of unethical crap.
