Good question! Who knows if this shot was made on purpose?

I do not know in this instance if, in fact, he took the shot on purpose, but i know on closing the distance(http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=2177249&mpage=1) the shooter took a poor, poor shot
intentionally.

Personally, I'd like to hear HIS side of the story before joining the lynch mob. I'd like to know if he really did screw up and take a rotten shot or... Did a lousy tape editor screw up, get the footage from multiple cameras pieced together out of phase and make it LOOK like a rotten shot?

The only guy who knows for sure is the one who took the shot, and I wasn't standing there in his shoes. Neither were any of you. So pardon me for being the odd man out, but I'm not hopping on your little bash wagon.

I watched the show with my TIVO. I pause and slo-mo almost every shot to see the arrow flight and impact to try to learn and improve my shot placement. This shot was taken at about 12 to 15 yards and the deer was at a very sharp quartering to, almost straight on. The camera was about a quartering to angle and made it very easy to see the flight of the arrow. The only shot the shooter had was a head shot or a back shot. He took the back shot. I for one have passed on this shot before and will pass on it every time it presents itself no matter what these "pro's" do. To me [and obviously many others] this was a no-brainer to pass up. It was and still is very dissapointing.

And thats perfectly fine, i guess im kind of changing this thread around, considering the original title is "Horrible shot", with that said, no matter if it was a bad shot or bad editing, it gives hunters a bad name when anti's or non-hunters see these kinds of things. I'm sure they do not care if it was a good shot, with bad editing. Thanks. Kyle

Watched it again tonight... 1GR8buck has it right, the guy shot the deer almost straight on right down the back.... bad choice of shot.. glad he did recover it.

treboryerf, when your on TV you have a responsibility to represent the sport of hunting, and doing something unethical isnt right, and they shouldnt keep representing our sport if they are going to do it poorly...

We got a lot more working against us as hunters than a tv personality taking a risky shot!

I hate MOR. The local cable provider doesn't yet have any program information for it. It just says 'Men's Outdoors and Recreation' 24/7 whereas satellite actually shows the program names and info and such.[>:]
