What time of ay did you kill your best buck??
#31
I personally see more bucks in the evening. I do think there is something to be said that some hunters are morning hunters and others are evening hunters. Im not sure if its something that we each do differently or how we think, but my one buddy and i see more deer in the evening and my other 2 hunting buddies see the majority of their bucks in the mornings, but they also hunt over scrapes alot more thani do.

My brothers and I have killed most of our big bucks between 11:00 and 1:00, as well as the people I have guided. I believe this is do to the fact that we hunt unpressured deer that are not nocturnal.

Last year i killed two of my bucks in the evening and one in the morning. The two in the evening were September 17 and January 1, both times when the deer are very patternable to a food source.
The buck i killed in the morning was durring the rut, when anything can happen.
I think that because i do a ton of scouting and patterning is why i have better luck killing a buck at night. Also, id say a majorty of my stand sets are better evening spots (hunting fields, food sources)

Well, I guess I could say that the mature bucks I huntare patternable in one way in the early season. They all move at night

Yeah, my place has very little pressure and there are quite a bit of food sources but the most demanding early season (beans) and the most demanding late season (corn) normally have the deer doing similar things each night.
Unfortuanately, we all know big bucks will never do the SAME thing every single night, however if you pattern the travel routes of the herd, when that big buck does decide to head to feed early you can bet he will be probably somewhere close to the herds travel route!

Two in the evenings and one in the morning. All three aged over 4.5 and grossed from 160's to 180's .. shot all three outside of the rut too.
