I'm a new compound shooter, and want to do things right! I bought a Stan back tension release to practice with, for hunting I want...need the trigger. I think I'd like a rope release, not a caliper. Fletcher makes one I think it's called old faithfull??? Any sugestions on this and who makes some other ones I can look at. Or would I be better off with a loop and a caliper?
Thanks

if you get a loop, try a peg-style release like the Scott rhino...then you don't have to worry about the loop slipping thru the jaws when you pull back

The "Ole Faithful"release you were asking about is made by Scott Archery not Fletcher. If you want the best rope release then buy the "Ole Faithful"I have been using one for over 8 years and I have never had any problems with this release. You can check out all the Scott releases at there website.WWW.SCOTTARCHERY.COM.Some guy's say they have had trouble loading a rope release on the bowstring in hunting situations, but I can tell you I have never had this kind of problem.Once you get used to using a rope release, you will be able to load it on the string without looking .Good luck.
