The Tomkat is available without the package, but the package is really a heck of a deal.;)

that really is a great deal. I almost thought of getting one myself once. I didnt like the brace height on it though.

I've said for a couple years now that the Tomkat is Bowtech's biggest sleeper in its stable... quite possibly its best-kept-secret! I mean, a darn-near nine-inch brace height that's sizzling arrows at up to 315 fps?!? Amazing!

Beware of bow "packages", I just don't see the need of spending top dollar to get cheap accessories with a cheap bow just to call it a "package" deal. I would MUCH rateher spend the money of the bow I want and than make sure the accessories on that rig are quality! What gear do these bows come with anyway? Also, consider a slightly used season old bow in great shape (like many of them area), I'd much rather buy a slightly used top-of-the-line Hoyt, BowTech or Mathews than the cheapermodels you've mentioned. Head to a Shop and shoot several, then decide. Good luck and good shootin'

Cornfed, The TomKat comes with a solid rest which a lot of hunters prefer the Whisker Biscuit (I am sure that will soon be the new Hostage rest) both solid performers. The quiver is a Bowtech/Diamond quiver again a nice solid quiver. The sight I am not sure of. I am sure most Hardcore archers would want a more top of the line sight, but then again if you have unlimited funds and are looking for something top of the line Bowtech you are not going to be looking at the TomKat. It is a solid bow and shoots really nice and also performs admirably.:D

Pick the one your comfortable with. Only you can make that call. Remember its not a popularity contest with your pick... Do whats best for you and you only...

I would say shoot all three and see which you like the best.

With that said. I have a TomKat and agree with GREG. Its quite, smooth, and fast. It is BowTech's "cheapest" bow and its still a darn good shooter. At 27.5'' and 67lbs, mine chronoed at just under 300FPS. That pretty good with a short draw andwith the "cheapest" bow a company produces.

The bow comes fully rigged and ready to shoot. I changed the sight and rest on mine, but thats just b/c I wanted a different type of sight and rest. The ones that came on the bow are fine.

Too bad you aren't lefty I would sale you mine. I just bought it a few months ago. If this bow is as good as it is and its the "cheapest" BowTech makes, I can't wait to get my hands on a higher end BowTech.
