how many of you make your own boards to put your *ANTLERS* on? if so can ya post some pics so i can get some ideas... i have 2 designs right now... the one i tried yesterday (the one thats in cabelas book.) is a lil hard without havin a drum sander.... doent look to bad but could look better.... lookin for some other ideas... thanks alot.....

I cut the biggerknots off of western larch trees when getting firewood or while logging. Usinga chainsaw I slice the knots about 1/4to 1/2 inch thick and use them to attach antlers too.

i made this plaque this year out of a solid piece of oak and used red mahogany stain...came out really nice...

Good post! I am not a fan of the mas produced antler mount kits either(basspro, cabelas).

Shed and deerslayer, great backing panels! Anyone cover the skull with anything homemade i.e. deer skin, felt? Let see some pics.

my proablem is im not great on the bandsaw... not bad either but not great....i dont have a drum sander so makin the curves in something like that is kinda hard for me... i think i might have to make something up with jus some strait cuts... in less i find a drum sander to use......
