Words cannot say how sorry i am to hear this.
I went thru the same thing about 8 years ago with Gunner, my chocolate lab.
At the vets office, I held him in my arms and cried while he slipped away.
Be as strong as you can for your friend. Know that it is the right thing to do.
Go ahead and cry.
I am sorry.

Wow, thats horrible, just be there with the little guy even though its going to be difficult but looking back you will always be glad you did. Its hard to describe how atatched we get to our dogs.
Buell, youre freakin me out!! The same exact thing happened to me, and his name was Gunner also, 7 year old AKC Master Hunter. He did it all himself, all I did was watch that ol boy do what he was born to do, was awesome. I had to put him down, I had him inhim in my arms as he slowly drifted away. Felt like I had an apple stuck in my throat, all the nurses were crying, my wife, the doc. I had his ashed put in a ern, he sits over our mantle with some pictures.

It wasn't too long ago that I had to have our old girl put down because the arthritis in her back end was so bad and even though she was still tryingwe could see she was in constant pain. She was with us for 13 years. I held her while she peacefullywent to sleep and then cried for a long time after. It's a hard thing to do but it's the right thing. Look at m.t.hands reply andjustknowshe'll be waiting on ya.
