RE: Why don't more people shoot
I think there is 3 names that are the best and are way out in front of theother bownames. It always seems there are some that do bash mathews and I really can't see why. They may not even haveowned one to vioce there remarks. I guess I wouldn't bash any of the top brands but like I said I can't see how someone could bashmathew for being no good. I would say they dislike them for some other reason. They do make a very good bow and so does the few at the top of that list.

RE: Why don't more people shoot
A few reasons I don't shoot a Mathews.
Reason #1.When I was shopping for my first bow, the local Mathews dealer came across as extremely arrogant and condescending ("If you don't shoot a Mathews you aren't a real hunter" blah blah blah). I really didn't like the guy at all, and he wouldn't cut us a deal on price even though my dad and I were about to buy 2 brand new bows, totally set up, plus arrows. So we went to the Hoyt dealer, who was totally cool to us and bought two brand new Hoyts. After shooting cam and a half Hoyt's, I just fell in love with the feel of hybrid cams. Reason #2. I just don't like single cam bows. They feel weird to me. I shot the Switchback and Drenalin and just didn't get all that excited. That's just my personal opinion. Reason #3. The grips suck IMO. Way too big and clunky. Reason #4. They charge top dollar for old technology. I just don't see the latest innovations on their bows. The Drenalin might be a slight exception with the slim limbs, but other than that it's the same thing as every other Mathews bow I've ever seen. Reason #5. There are just too many other great bows out there to get stuck with Mathews tunnelvision. They make a nice bow, but basically their nothing special especially considering how much they cost. Just my .02 cents. |
RE: Why don't more people shoot
I would shoot a Mathews if I could afford one. :(

RE: Why don't more people shoot
I shoot a Drenalin and love it. I really like my Instinct as well.

RE: Why don't more people shoot
Some talk about the price of Mathews but the laxt time I looked there all getting right up there in price and are very close the top end bows. One thing warrenty is a big thing and customer service and I know how does a better job for me. I have had differant brands of bows and I can say from experience that mathew is top notch with life time warrenty. The price on bows have became very competitive.

RE: Why don't more people shoot
Here's a GREAT idea. Mathew's should take their previous years bow, knock off a little on the ATA, make the brace height a little longer, lose a few fps, add about 10more dampners, add a few extra letters on the end of the name, and resell it. Oh wait, they did that LAST year, my bad :D;)[8D]

RE: Why don't more people shoot
I shoot an Oneida Eagle Tomcat cause Im comfortable with it. Plus I dont shoot a release. Matthews dont have any finger bows. They cater to the release shooters. Plus they are expensive...
