How do I get in on a team for this fall?

There's no rules about anything. The only officially-sanctioned contest is the Bowhunting contest, but as long as either Mods or some generous soul agrees to run the other contests they are more than welcome too. Feel free to sign up for as many of them as you wish, it doesn't matter much to us. The more the merrier.
As for the official sign-ups for this year's bowhunting contest, I believe they usually start sometime around the 1st of August, and wrap up about the 1st of September. That way we're ready to rock for the seasons that open early. Be patient guys, we'll get there soon enough.

You're correct, Justin.
This is what I remembered seeing:
This is what I remembered seeing:
5. Open to all members new and old unless your signed up in another bow contest on HNI(only), please don't sign up and disappear, you'll be replaced. No more than 10 persons per team, drawn randomly....alternate's when necessary starting with first come first serve....I'll oversee it.

GMMAT,
People who want to do both should stop and give it some thought. For people who hunt all the time and consistently take game, it would be a no brainer. But I'm considering not doing the bowhunting one this year b/c of my lack of experience and the fact that I'm not a dedicated bowhunter. In my case, with the amount of bowhunting I am able to do I would be spread to thin to offer a reasonable chance of helping a bowhunting team (Now if we institute that doe rule I'm sure I would assist
).
I have been working really hard on getting a nice buck the last couple years, and come the rut I will have a rifle in my hands.
From what I've gathered, I will probably move more and more into bowhunting and may just do the bowhunting contest for 08.
Of course I will now proceed to kill a big buck with my bow and nothing with my rifle. Not that I would be complaining.

LeBeau...
I hear ya....and while it IS for "fun"....people are still competitive. Buckeye and I don't always agree (doh!).....but I respect his opinion....and I'm not sure does are a good idea for the contest (I've listened...and THEN formed my opinion).
And I think (it's MY opinion, only) that a person SHOULD recognize a little responsibility to their team and plan on actually BOWHUNTING for a buck.....until that window of opportunity has passed (like....the season has ended). I'll catch flack for that....but hey...you signed up for a BOWHUNTING contest. Hunt with your bow.
If you disagree with this.....don't get mad at me. It's only my opinion.

IN DA WOODS
just hang around long enough, like they said July or August and you will catch the sign up if they have it this season. Hope to be on the same team with you!!
