Anybody see "Closing the Distance", last night?

Nice buck comes in.....15 yds.......and turns directly facing the hunter (Chad somebody?). What does he do?

Sticks him right square in the back. Says he thinks he might've clipped lung. ABSOLUTELY meant to take the exact shot he took.

That kinda bull**** just turns my stomach. He recovers the deer saying....."he's dead....andthat's all that matters".

So..Justin....here's a great example of what I don't like to see on TV....and why i won't watch their show any more. No big deal to them in the long run, I know. But ...I have no other means of protest.

Is that the dude with the rackulator thingy?
Drives me nuts.

Yes, Peak. Same guy. It wasn't that guy....but a different "Prostaffer". My wife...who knows very little about hunting...actually left the room.

I usually like watching that show, since it is all archery, but that kind of stuff sucks. I sitll never understand why they put that on TV, with all the hunts they have to choose from.

It was the guy with the rackulator (sp?) and c'mere deer.

I was very surprised the guy took the shot: the deer was facing him its head down. The potential for mishap was obvious. He was lucky enough to recover the deer. After they spend the time/money to set-up a hunt, they probably feel obligated to air the show evan after they discover one of their hunters is a prematureidiot.

It certianly does not make me want to purchase their products.

I'm just glad someone else saw it.

I didn't get to see the show, but from the sounds of it, seems like a poor shot to take. I can think of a couple other big name hunters taking similar shots, in past hunting videos. It's one thing to "Make" a bad shot, but it's another to "Take" one.

The Closing the Distance guys put out awesome videos with the Dead Deer Walking series. I put them up there with anyone else in the industry. Im surprised Chad would take that angle...Im sure that wasnt in the "Shot placement 101" video they came out with...;)

I'm NOT exaggerating when I tell you the deer was facing him STRAIGHT ON. I wanted to crawl through the screen.

Exactly, I'm typically a big fan of Closing the Distance. I didn't see the show (I believe you though), but it sucks it had to come from a production group I enjoy.
