Default SUSPENDED TARGETS

Just thought I'd post a quick lesson learned on my part. I started shooting with a bag target sitting on the ground. After a while, I had split four of my arrows.
I know that I'm not supposed to shoot groups at shorter ranges, and I usually don't, but sometimes I can't help myself. I like to see that cluster of arrows.
After building a frame and suspending my target, I haven't split any. I've broken some nocks and punched holes in or stripped vanes, but never damaged a shaft.
After the arrows impact, the target is still swinging just enough on the next shot that it's very unlikely that the next arrow will hit the nock end of an arrow at the correct angle to split it. Still possible, but unlikely.

I'd be even MORE concerned about damaging arrows with a "swinging" target. If the target is swinging, you have a greater likelihood of hitting the actual SHAFT of another arrow.

I've actually put arrows through the SIDE of carbon arrows because the target was swinging, like you described. I think the safest thing to do is just shoot at different dots.

I have to take a shot.............pull. Take a shot...............pull.

It sucks but I am really good. Lost a little weight. I was speding $20 every outing.

I wish I had that problem. Kind of like the problem of a lot of taxes.

Two words...Pin...Nocks.

That way when you bust an arrow, you actually will only be busting a nock pin. Very cheap to replace.

They are sweet for hunting too!

I lik the idea of the suspended target for mobility reasons. Now all i need is 4 wheels and a handle to pull it around just like you

I practice with 5 arrows, my bag target has 5 spots. I like seeing groups too but not at the cost of arrows.

If you are indeed grouping that well, shoot at different points. Or try stacking the arrows side by side. Good luck!
