Here it is, Mike. "Ethics Police"- 88% of voters said they'd hunt inside the fence. Almost 100 votes, so we had a pretty big sample.

Thats hard to believe. Of course all cercumstances are different...

But, like others have said, It still would be a blast to see some great whitetails. Maybe take a camera with you Jeff an get some good stills/video of some monsters to share with us :Dand get yourself a doe while your at it....

Again, we're on the same page.

I don't see it as that big a deal either way. If you don't want to go, you can always use scheduling conflict as an excuse. If you go, you'll more than likely have a decent time just hanging out in the woods and staying at the lodging accomodations. You aren't going to view it as some spectacular hunting outing, just more like a little"in-depth" grocery shopping.

Id go for the experience alone, if it turned out that you'd have the opportunity to take a nice management buck I'd do that too. While it might score higher than your "bull" the bull is a better trophey in my book. But it doesnt mean you cant shoot another deer. If you think it would take something from your "bull" then dont, but I dont see how its gonna hurt anything, and how often will you have the opportunity to shoot a 140".

As far as the fence thing goes, Like matt said, if its 1000's of acres then its different. Sometimes these outtfitters have to fence in so they can manage the herd cause the neighbors dont hunt the same way. Im not ashamed of that. Now if the deer are let out of a cage for you to shoot then thats different. But from what i gather this could be low fence operation, otherwise why would they have managment bucks??

A good friend of my dad's owns a high-fence operation, 1300 acres, and they do management hunts. There are bucks that just aren't going to get to be giants, not matter how old they are. That's probably what this hunt is going to be. He has some amazing genetics to draw from, but you also have to have does with good genetics to produce true giants, so some bucks just don't ever get to be B&C.

Guys....I appreciate your responses and views...I really do.

When I went to lunch.....I got to talk to two people I really trust.....My wife...and Rob/PA. Rob gave me his opinion....and my wife came up with a great idea.

I'm gonna do it.....on one condition. it's afree management hunt to my subcontractor....either way he looks at it (buck and doe). I'm gonna see if I can take one of my clients (people I build for)......and I'll pay the expenses (meals and extra camp-related things). he can take whatever weapon he wants to.....I'll take my bow. he shoots his buck.....I'll take a doe...and donate the meat. Win/Win/Win scenario.

If it doesn't interfere with MY work, here (in my woods)....that's what I'll propose. I wouldn't trade my buck from last year for any buck inside that fence......nor would I cherish any of them over the one I want and have right here in my woods.

And I wouldn't look at any of you any differently if you disagreed wth me. I sincerely appreciate ALL the responses. You guys didn't judge ME. It is appreciated.

Have a great weekend, guys.

sounds like a wise choice.......

GERM...for the record he is being rude....for him to come on once and say he doesn't approve is fine...for him to make 6 plus comments of his opinion, is IMO uncalled for....it is not a contest to see how many times you can reply on the topic...
