i have been doing some homework and decided on this..
either a HOYT magnatech or havoctech
is it better to get one of those combo packages? which would run me $500.00 for the whole setup.or should i just get the bow for $400.00 and be able to pick the stuff i want to get?
the package deal does not come with stuff i like to get on my bow. like the loop on the string for the release.
also what should i set the lbs on the bow?i feel comfortable with 70lbs
any options and help i would appreciate

Welcome to the HOYT brotherhood!<img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
Personally , I would buy the bare bow and put all the gadgets on myself. Are you getting a cam 1/2?
The bow will function at it's optimum performance level when it's set at peak weight , but I usually start out at mid point with a new bow until I get used to it.
JMO , but between the magnatec and havoctec , I like the havoctec much better.
Good shooting!

I was set on getting a Havoctec before I dryfired a Martin Phantom II and had to buy it. I would also buy the bare bow and accessorize myself. If you're going to spend that kind of money on a bow, better go ahead and make sure everything is the way YOU want it. Make sure to get the cam and a 1/2 and XT2000 limbs. They are much better than the others. Good luck and I'm jealous! LOL

well i bought a magna tec last year and i love it. the havotec looks to be a good bow however. that is your decision. how much mony do you have? if you do not have a lot i would buy the package. Then you can start swiching things out as the funds become available. also by getting the package you will be shooting when you leave the bow shop. One other thing when and if you ever sell the bow you can take the upgraded parts off and put the factory stuff back on. then you will have your upgrades for the next bow. just my 2 cents

Do yourself a favor and stop looking at the Brand and focus on the bow itself. It's kinda like buying a Ford Tempo because Ford is a great company... doesn't make any sense....
Take a look at this website: http://www.huntersfriend.com/bowselection.htm
It will give you a quite honest look at just about every bow out on the market and you will see that for the money, you can get a better deal elsewhere and that there are many many other bows that shoot just as well as a $700 hoyt, but cost only $250...
Merry Christmas.

The cam 1/2 is new for 2003. All Hoyt bows come with limbsavers installed. The versa cam is an awesome cam too , so if you can get a better deal on one , go for it.
