i bought a hunters view stand a while ago and i'm extremely disappointed in it and the company. when i got the stand there were no instructions included for assembly or use. i've been trying to get the company to send me some but i can't get them to answer phone or email. i'll never buy anything from them again and will never reccommend that anyone else does either just because of that.

Just to clear it up when peakrut said to use the foot straps, he means the stirrups, straps, bars, whatever it is that you use to pullthe bottom part up with make sure u have a good grip on it so that your feet o not fall out of the stirrups! But just like oneshot said the best thing to do is tie a rope from the seat section of the treestand to the bottom section!

On the platform their are straps you slide the top of your boots into but also their are straps that you pull up around the back of the boot so in case you dont slide out the front ones. Well at the time I said heck with the back ones and just slid my boots right in.
Here is a pic and see the green ones go across front and black ones across back.

I do have one thing about safety if they have those straps on the platform make sure you do put the around your boots or shoes. I like a idiot once did not and thankfully only got up about 8 feet then the bottom slip off my boots and down went the plat form and left me hanging with the top part.
explain this around your boot thing a little better. PM me if you have to.

Yes it has a strap to hold them together but I also failed to do that. I usually tie them together once I get up the tree.

No wonder I hate a hard time with my climber. I don't have straps to go around the back of my boots. Any ideas as to what I can do?

does it have the footrest on it matt if so there should be a space between there and the platform that you can stick your foot in to help the climb go easier

Maybe bungi cord on each side using a small bungi? Should be able to get tight enough.
