Default Young hunter...never bow hunted

I was wondering if some one could tell me a good bowI could get. Im looking for something thats really adjustable thatI can use for a while while Im still growing. Im 14 years old im about 5' 11' 190lbs if that helps. After reading all these post in the bowhunting sectionI really want to try it out. I have been to bow shops and all and they just say wait until I'm older instead of wasting my money on something I'm going to grow out of. What do you guys think?

Hell, your the size of an average adult now. I'm 25, 6'-0", 180....so I hope you don't get too much bigger. My point being, most bows on the market are going to fit you fine. I would recommend going back to the bow shop and shooting a bunch of different bows. Then pick the one that feels/shoots the best. If you get a lot bigger than you are now, then start to worry about ANY bow being a good fit.

I agree fully with zubbba, except dont go back to a bow shop that tells you to wait until your older. go to one that will treast you not only like a client but as friend as well.

1. I would no go back to a shop who told you not buy a bow yet.
It's never too early to buy it, (even if you don't hunt for a year or so)especially since you seem to be good sized already. Now as far as a good bow goes....1st gather up how much money you are going to be able to spend for EVERYTHING Basics for now is abow, arrows, field points, release, site, & bow accessories(basic limbsaver stuff)
Then go to a shop and shoot a few in your price range and decide from there. Hang out here for lots of great info.

You most likely would not have any trouble trying to sale your old bow in a few years. Do not let your age hold you back.

Kind of what I was thinking!Diamond makes some nice bows that would fit you for a long time and don't overlook the Bowtech TomKat. Quite a bargain for Binary cam technology. It is quite a performer and the draw adjusts from 27" to 31"

How do you measure your draw length and draw weight?
