.........I was just wondering how you find the right draw weight. Do you have to go to the store and draw back some bows to see what draw weight is right for you?
Thanx.

The best way to see how much weight you can pull is to sit flat on the ground indian style and pull the string back. You should be able to pull the string straight back w/o raising the bow any to help. When you get to the point that you have to raise the bow then back the poundage off 5 pounds. After that you can raise the poundage a little every two or three weeks, depending on how much you practice. As you raise the poundage make sure that you can still do the above.

If you are just starting out with a bow 55#s may feel hard to pull at first but the more you practice the easier it will get--to a point. If you shoot a couple times a week you will notice the draw getting easier to pull--after getting those muscles in shape you will know what you are comfortable with--keep in mind that it gets harder with more clothes and cold temps also.If you have a bow set at 55#'s you can kill just about anything with the right shot placement on the animal.
