It's all about that burning desire...

Filling your time with books, cellphone games and such only distract you from what's going on around you. Deer don't need camoflauge, and they can slip by you at 20 yards unnoticed with you even at full alert. Keep your head in the game the whole time you are in the stand.

In my first few years bowhunting I would find myself getting bored rather easily. I would force myself to stick it out, knowing that patience is key. It seems that after "maturing" as a hunter, spending countless hours on stand, becoming more in tune with my surroundings and just flat out having the desire, it seems like the days I spend hunting fly by. There are simply not enough hours in the day.

Just my .02.....if you are getting bored, your desire is not 100%... stick it out. As you mature as a hunter, you will soon enough find yourself in the stand, watching the time, hoping it will slow down.
