5 point buck when I was 12. I nailed the little buger, then watch him run away. I calm myself down set my bow on the hook and smiled. Then had 120+ 8 point come the same way, with no damn arrow on my bow

It is 2 miles from where i was hunting to the farm house. I think I would have set a world record I ran full speed the whole way. I called gramps and he came out and we track him down.

I can still remember his exact words.

Grampa I have a drag rope; Gramps said "Rope we do not need any rope were dragging him out by his antlers" He gave me a swig of blackberry brandy, a tradtion to this day I do

I shot an old Bear recurve when I first started but did not kill until I graduated up to a Bear compound. And you know what that bow was.

Now I got a take-down recurveand hope to redeem myself from the lost opportunities. Very cool photo.

Hmm first deer was 1978 it was a doe with a flintlock muzzleloader, I was 13. First Buckwas geez around 1981-2 it was a five point broken rack. I remember I was cooking pork and beans on sterno..it was cccccoooollllldddd, when he came up the mountain. I leveled the 6mm Remington and dropped him.
