RE: wearing a watch when you hunt

I wear one. Like to know what time I'm seeing deer. Do you guys really take your cell phones to the stand?

Absolutely.

You never know when you might need it.I know a person that layed in the woods for 24 hours with a broken back.A cell phone might have helped get him out in a reasonable amount of time.

I take my cell phone to the stand with me, but only for emergency use. I have awatch with a clip on it that I hang out in front of me on a limb so I will not have to move much tocheck the time. I have done that for a few years now.

I always have a cell phone with me when I hunt. You never know when (God forbid) someone might get shot or some other injury.

I thought everyone carried a cell phone (on silent mode) to the woods these days. A buddy of mine fell from 23' before the awareness increase on safety harnesses. He broke his wrist, pelvis and 2-3 ribs (landed on a turtle). His cell phone saved his hide.

I also carry a cell for emergencies and to call for help dragging a deer out (bad back.) I must be one of the holdouts that uses a pocket watch. It doesn't make my wrist cold on cold days and I never have to remember to take it off to field dress a deer.

I also wear a watch. Just not one with night glow. The night glow is a dead give away even during day light hours.

I always must have the time with me. Sometimes its a watch in my pocket or a cell phone. I would hate to not know the time and come out of stand way to early. Sometimes time really goes slow and you might think alot of time has passed when it really hasn't.

To me its easier to sit when you can say to yourself, "one more hour" and look at a watch rather then guessing.

I quit wearing a watch long ago. Work just destroyed them so got out of the habit of wearing one. Same reason I don't wear my wedding ring. Caught it on something and then had a heck of a time getting the mangled thing off my mangled finger. We got it fixedbut Inever put it back on. Never liked rings in the first place.[:'(]

Tylertakes our cell phone when he hunts. Should really get another one so we both carry one but at least he can get a hold of the wife if he needs to or me when I am working.
