RE: wearing a watch when you hunt
I am starting my 51st year of Bowhunting& have always worn a watch. I used to record the time I saw Deer & from what stand. I still make a mental note of timne I see a deer & immediatly look at the time when I shoot one. You can learn lots about your hunting area by recording the times of animals seen & Buck or Doe.

RE: wearing a watch when you hunt
I strap my watch around a backpack strap that covers the face. It's handy enough, I don't normally wear a wristwatch.

RE: wearing a watch when you hunt
Guess I'm in the minority on the cell phone thing. Sitting in a deer stand, the last thing in I want is my stupid cell phone vibrating. I don't even carry one on a day to day basis though either.

RE: wearing a watch when you hunt
I try to always wear one while hunting. I like to keep notes of what I saw while on the stand and try to document the times I seen them.

RE: wearing a watch when you hunt
I record the time I see deer and write it in a field journal w/ the moon phase, temps, humidity, etc. It really will surprise you how time of day plays into movement at a certain time of the rut phase. I also need to know legal start and end time. So a watch to me is necessary.
Iuse a sport watch w/ a lighted dial that helps in the dark. I also wear it on the opposite wrist as my release. |
