I've found that Sitka blacktails are about the same size as whitetails back in NY. I've seen bruisers that will go over 200#'s in both places but an average buck will weigh in about 150-175. Our blacktails tend to be shorter and stockier than a whitetail but just as big.

Hey CD i live about 30 mins from medford but in the other direction.
To be exact i live just outside Grants Pass.
I go to grants pass from time to time.. I bought my bow and wapiti archery in grants pass from dan..

hey CD......i am in Sac....that is an aweseome deer you got there...what zone? archery or rifle?
i mainly hunt D3-5 and B zone.......i don't have pics on here but if i get a chance i will post some for you.....

hey josh... that buck was taken in B6 with a bow.. I only hunt archery.. I also hunt zone X1 when I get drawn.. what b-zone do you hunt??

B3 in men. NF.......big deer in B6- very nice archery buck.....seen a few monster during archery season last year.......do you hunt private land or public?

up in B6!? isn't that were the guy from Redding shot the new CA archery record???

Thats one deer I want to hunt someday.. My cousin lives in Oregon now..maybe I can talk him into a hunt.. :D

I hunt public land... and im not sure about the california record... if it isthe one im thinking of I believe it was an a-zone buck.. but not sure ill have to look it up..[8D]

WOW....then that is an absolute awesome buck for public land IMO.....have you been doing any scouting in your area yet??

Shed........come on down here i will show you where they are at......won't be cheap thought (non res tag and lic. very expensive for a 125 lb deer) LOL

Would you happen to be from NY? Reason being, once when I was showing my dad something on the forum, he saw your name in your sig, and remembered a guy w/ the same name.
