Live trap them and relocate them a couple offeet from the shore line in three feet of water in your pond. Let them get used to their new underwater environment over night then set them free in the morning.[]
Not trying to sound like a psycho or anything but I have done that a few times because everytime I tried to let them out of the trap they would try and attack me and I had strict orders not to shoot them. Nobody said anything about them drowning though.
In PA its illegal to relocate them , if they are a problem they must be killed.
They are the # 1 carrier of rabies.................

This safe and humane........
Since it is legal in most locales to kill a rabid animal and a sign of rabies in coons is coming close to humans in day light, I say trap them and then open up the trap in daylight. If it comes out of the cage during the day while near a human, I say you've got 2 signs of rabies and should fire away to protect yourself as well as the surrounding animal population!

wait till legal season and trap them or ask at your sporting goods store or even local bait shops for a trapper in your area to come to it for you.

nctaxi's got a buddy that traps. I'd call him and ask him if he wanted some free coons. Then I'd go from there.
