Slick Tricks - Regular or Magnum?
#1
I just noticed that Cabela's started carrying the Slick Trick broadheads. The magnum version obviously has a bigger cut, but why else would you choose/not choose it over the standard?

Even though these are supposed to fly like field points I imagine that the smaller head would have less effect on the arrow than the bigger blades. Less wingspan to steer from the front?

The only reason I would choose the standard over the magnum was ifI were pulling less than 50 pounds draw weight.

I shoot the magnums and they fly very well to 30 yards...I have not try them farther yet...some people say they are "noisy" but I don't hear any...
You can't go with either one...

I shoot the magnums as well. My buck last year was at 42 yards, perfect shot, so I think they shoot pretty darn good! They do make a little noise, but any fixed blade will do that.

Hey! I'm a rack buck now!! Woo Hoo!!
So, coming back to the topic...a smaller diameter will probably give you more penetration, but personally, all being equal... the bigger the hole the better...

Anyway, a while back when I used to still shoot compounds, I found the slick tricks to really fly well. Not sure the difference between the two, but I'd probably go with the heavier head.

Which ones are non-vented Bob. The Magnus ones are right? I can't think of any others off the top of my head. Also, do know of any advantages of either head, vented or non vented?
