I just got my ASAT ground blind - and took out the velcro shoot-through mesh panels for turkey hunting. I have, however, heard you need them for whitetail and maybe hogs. But how about elk and antelope? Thanks. Roskoe

Exactly, use the mesh for any other critter. Honestly, I prefer to use the mesh on my DB blinds most of the time for turkey also, just to give me that little exra freedom of movement. I also always try to wear black in the blind as well. Good luck

I agree with everyone here, one deer mesh is a must. The only draw back with using mesh window, is on a frosty morning it can be a pain to see out of the blind until the frost melts.

You don't have to. In fact, most of the shots I've taken through our Double Bull blinds have been with Rocket mechs. You only have to make sure that the b-head features straight blade tips and NOT the L shaped blade tips.

Can you tell if the blades are opening up going through the mesh? I know from experience (last week) that a NAP Spitfire will open going through the fabric of the blind [&o]. I also shoot the Rage two blade mechanicals. I'm sure these will open up going through the mesh - I think a thick piece of paper is enough to pop those blades open. I may have to do a little experimenting this summer . . . .

The Slammerheads will NOT open until they strike the target. You really need a mech with a band and not any that react with retention clips of inertia. The best way to test this is to order a cheap inexpensive piece of shoot through mesh and stretch it across your paper tuner, that's exactly what we did.We fireddozens of differentb-head designsout to 30-35 yards at the Block and a 3D deer just to see how different heads reacted. It was very educational and well worth the few dollars for some mesh. Try it? Good luck and good shootin'

The best flying heads consistently were the Rocket Steelhead 100, 125 and the Slammerhead 90

Rocket wolverines will also work just fine. You just want to make sure the heads you choose don't have a "finger" sticking out the side that will catch on the net, opening the head. Bad heads would be, say, a Hypershock......Among many others...Again, that finger sticking out the side will be a problem.

That Slammerhead 90......is thata 90 grain head?? I was thinking the Slammerhead was 150......Maybe there are 2 versions??? I hope, I hope, I hope....
