My thoughts are that it would get caught on things and just get in the way.

I have a 11.5" doinker and i really like it so far. I havent deer hunted with it but so far its great for turkey season. I do have to take it off to put it in the case, but thats not too bad. I also have a 7" one that i may end up using during deer season

Nah, it is what it is. I'm sure there are a lot of folks who can't help but snicker when they see an ad for that particular item, though.
