RE: What do you take in your pack?
All I carry is a rangefinder...Honestly, Who needs a pack-back? I carry what I need, Maybe some calls, scents, Rangefinder, Bow Hook, Pull-up rope...etc, just necessaties. Why make it an excursion?
Got all my stuff..damn where's my bow??[/align]

Sleeping bag
Bivy
ThermaRest Ultralight
Extra gloves
Dry socks
Balaclava
Food
Water
Knives
Game bag(s)
Headlamp (unless it's spring or early fall; never gets dark)
Matches
VHF radio, cell phone or EPIRB (depending on where I'm going and with whom)
Camera
Some days I pack the .44 some days I leave it home, depends on the season and where I'm going and what I'm doing but it's on the waist belt of the pack, not in it.
I have a good set of binos but they are never in my pack, same for the rangefinder.

RE: What do you take in your pack?
Let me think here....
This is when I am packing in heavy when I hunt the Big Woods down south..... Much lighter here at home. I don't carry the backpack at home unless it is fairly cold out..
Fanny pack
Powder windicator
DDW mouth spray
Compas
Watch
Cell phone
Rangefinder
GPS
Grunt call
Snort wheeze call
Flashlight
Strapper retriever (pull up rope)
Binos
Back Pack
Water bottle
Digital camera andat times theMini DV recorder (tree arm etc)
rattln' horns (sometimes)
Extra layers
Gloves
Scent Killer spray
Knive w/ guthook
Bow tree arm (only with the climber though)
I'm sure I missed some stuff...... I like to be prepaired..... The day you don't take something is the day you will need it

RE: What do you take in your pack?
I really don't carry very much. Knife, Multi-tool, Flashlight on my belt. Call, binocs around neck. Pull up rope in pocket. Phone in pocket. Maybe a different set of gloves depending on the weather. I've carried a small pack before but barely used anything out of it, and felt kind of gay for carrying a fannypack
If I can't fit it in my pockets, around my neck, or on my belt, I really dont have much use for it. I've gone out many times with nothing more thanthe weapon.

RE: What do you take in your pack?
I only carry my bow, a grunt call, doe bleat call, binos, range finder (sometimes), bow rope, tissues, and my Garmin Rhino. They all go on the belt, around the neck or in a pocket. I think taking a knife is bad luck so if I need it I just go back to the truck or campsite to get it. Not that I am superstitious or anything

I pack way too much, but seem to do it every time.
8x42 Nikons
Nikon pro 440
tree bow hook arm thingy
reflective tree tacks
LED flashlight
extra bow rope for pulling stuff up
drag rope
knife pack w/ foldup limb saw
rattle bag
grunt tube
primos deadly double mouth call (turkeys are in season sometimes)
rules and regulations book
zip ties
orange flagging tape
roll of toilet paper
gallon size zip lock bag
granola bars
water bottle
I think that's about it..........theres probably some stuff I am missing though.

RE: What do you take in your pack?
I did the "stuff-the-pockets" routine for a few years, and then decided that I would eventually sacrifice a bit of manliness and don a fanny pack. I like to think that I retained some dignity, as it is camo-colored of course.
It now consists of: pull rope, roll of twine (especially handy when you misplace item number one), trails end 307 scent, estrous scent, snippers, knife, folding saw, plastic bags for heart and liver, flashlight, headlamp, scent wicks, trail marking tape, and digital camera. That about does it for me!
