shot the big three today

Snuck by on my way home....shot the vectrix and the drenalin and the guardian. Did not end the way I thought it would. I am totally biased to bowtech, just for the record. I am fairly strong person also....
The guardian is quiet, no question. But it has a wicked draw. Starts smooth, but ends tough. Gave me an impression of a tractor pull (redneck reference, sorry). I absolutely could not pull 70 lbs smoothly, like a deer was 15 yards out and suspiscious, couldn't do it. Had to push up and out. After looking at it, also it has alot of moving parts. I had an older bow that the e clips would come off of. This guy has 16 e clips...bad math.
The Drenalin was a hard pull all the way around. Smooth cycle, but verydifficult and not as solidof a backwall, either. Not as quiet as the Guardian, but smoother. Felt light in the hand, also. Quality bow, butdid not flip my skirt, sorry. Theshop owner said he had aseveral come back for warranty work(that probably influenced my decision, too).
The Vectrix, despite my preformed opinions, shot very well. Light, balanced, quiet. OK, sorry, I despised Hoyt. Overpriced, ugly, bad camo patterns, icckk. I was happy not liking Hoyt.
It was fast, and pleasant to shoot. 70 lbs felt like 60.Solid, butter smooth, and forgiving ( had 1"groups at 20 yards on the shop bow in 6 arrows). The vulcan even snuck in second behind the vectrix, it was faster, but not as quiet. I will not sleep well tonight.......

I guess that's further reinforcement thatI bought me a good bow.
On second thought, now that I opened up my mouth, there'll be some major recall with the Vectrix and my foot will end up in that mouth. LOL

On the Drenaline, hesaid one bent cam d/t dry fire. One split limb, unknown origin, two bent axles, d/t uneven stress (his term)?
Sorry for the opinions Hoyt folks. No dissrespect, intended.I have really good friends on your team.I just didn't see eye to eye with the local dealer. And they really did have butt ugly camo a few years ago....

Matt,
Do yourself a favor, and go shoot a Reflex Ridgeline. I thought that the Vectrix would be the bow to get this year, after having shot a Trykon XL last year, and absolutely loving it. However, I found that I liked the Ridgeline34 better than the Vectrix XL. Smoother on the draw, and even less hand-shock. I have to believe that the STS adds a small amount of hand shock, because essentially, both bows were pretty similar, with the Vectrix being the one I would have expected to feel better. Both bows are quite nice, but I am just really impressed with the Ridgeline34.

There's a reason Bowtech makes more bows than just the Guardian... Even though I own one, I'm probably just as stoked about my '07 Allegiance if not more so. I wouldn't limit your choices to that one model.

....his opinion on theFord line may have been different. For the record....the original poster's analogy of the Guardian draw cycle was spot-on with mine.64 lbs. felt like more than I'd ever drawn (thedemo I pulled was set at 64lbs.).
The other bows are great bows (that you tried). I'd be a happy camper owningeither of them......but I'm happier I tried the '07 Allegiance.

Hmm, interesting comments. I have yet to shoot a Guardian as only one of the local shops had one in stock however they will not let you shoot the bows.
Just to throw another wrench in the mix, and somewhat of an offshoot of Greg's comment, did you happen to give the Black Ice a go yet?
