Well again, how the heck do you scrore a giraffe? It doesn't have much for headgear - just a couple little stumps on the top of his head. Aller, were you suggesting scoring them based on their Vertebraes or was that comment directed to something else?
A bear is scored by it's skull ...... maybe it's neck ... or skull .... [&:]

As far as i can tell there is no scoring method for giraffe.

Checked SCI and they dont have one, if there was a scoring method it would be there..

ok, then how would you judge a giraffe in the field? I don't really know anything about the giraffe so I'm not sure what to even think about if I had one in my sights. What makes it a trophy giraffe as compared to just another giraffe thats walking about the savanaha? I'm sorry I keep asking this, but this really boggles me lol.

There probably isn't a lot of field judging going on. Or being in it for the 'mature' factor. I would think that it's more for the guy who has really tall ceilings and simply needs to decorate the whole wall.

thats pretty funny

I can go with that I guess. It jut is wierd to think of not field judging an animal before you take it. All the other game species that people hunt have a scoring system or at least characteristics that allow you to judge an animal.

Actually, when they were hunting it they were looking for a male. The one they shot was determined to be a mature male. How they determined it, I don't know.

A local guy I know went over last year for the sole purpose of hunting Giraffe with a bow.......said it's actually very difficult to spot and stalk these things and he did not take one home (Not sure HOW you actually take one home but anyway.....)

Think about how well you can see from a treestand, that's a Giraffe all the time.
