I am looking to crest my own arrows this year but I don't want to spend the $125 kit from Bohning to do it. Am wondering if its possible to purchase certain paints that I can crest my own without compromising the integrity of the arrow. Anyone with any input?
Thanks.

$125...what kind of cresting are putting on there? Gold? mine cost me $15 for a dozen. You can get them at bass pro or most other sporting goods stores. or if you dont want to spend much at all just take some painters tape and tape off the arrow and apply a thin layer of spray paint. Just be careful not to hole the can too close or they will run.

That's a great read. Somewhere on here is another thread on how to make your own arrow lathe. That's the expensive part. If you can cut that cost down, then you can just get a tube, the lacquers of your choice, and a few brushes.

Talk about an informative link. Thanks a ton. I am sick of buying pre-wrapped, pre-fletched arrows. Want something to do in the winter and am going to give it a try. Thanks guys.

Thanks Tony... I should have checked first to see if someone had done the work for me... I had already opened a new browser, ran a search, copied the URL and was coming back here to paste it when I saw you'd already done it... Thanks again!
Sinke, if you've got any questions, let me know. I'm sure you can tell, but I'm the author of that thread. Feel free to ask anything you don't understand.

Tony... it's called being over 1,000 miles away from home for two straight weeks for medical sales training and cramming for tests every night... Leaves little time to get on here at the end of the day from the hotel.
And I appreciate ya havin' my back!
