This past friday, the shop was slow, (I work part time in a Mathews dealership)so me and another friend realy put the Drenalin through the tests. I was inpressed with its speed, At 71 pounds with a 404 grain arrow and 30" draw it was spitting it out at 301-302 f/s, time and time again. I didn't have a lighter arrow in the store, and didn't want to make one just for this test. Up till this year in Idaho, to be legal our arrowshad tobe 400 grains or more. This year that law is now changed to 300 grains or more manly for the out of staters comming in to hunt. Around herenot many archers are switching over becasue a heavy arrow is surenice for elk, it gives you plenty of KE which is needed for them. Anyway I too will soon have aDrenalin come this spring.

I should mention too, that we also shot the Switchback XT, the Switchback, and a older 2002 Mathews Legacy for comparison. All were 30" draws and we set them allto 70-71 pounds, just like the drenalin. The Legacy and the Switchback XT were with in 2 feet of each other. The Legacy clocked in at 287-288, the XT was hitting the 290-291 mark, and the shocker was the origional 05 Switchback (my personal bow) was only 2 f/s faster than that. It was comming in at 293-294. I was hoping for better seeing that on paper its suppose to be 318 IBO and the Drenalin is 320 IBO. But whats on paper and whats real is two different things, which I already knew. I also know that you can have the 4 brand new bows of the same modles set them all to the same poundage and have four different reading in speed. So that said for fun of it I am going to compare my Swithcback and my Switchback XT. Ilike my 05 Swithback so much that I hunted with it again this past year. The XT on the other hand I have hardly shot, I bet I haven't put 200 arrows through it. I got it paper tuned at 70 pounds, turned it down to 62 poundsand thats about it. It sat there in its casethis last seaonswaitingto be used as a back up bow as planned. Not saying I don't like it because I do, when I do sit in some blinds in the furture, come antelope season and such I will use it for the simple reason its only 31" ATA overallthats small and handy so it shouldbe very nice to use in a blind. Anyway getting back on subject, next week I am going to compare my Switchback XT, to another Switchback with the same 404 grain arrow just to see the actual numbers.

The onlypics I know off were posted by some idiotwho went out of his way to slam Mathews and post these pics all over the net. These pics were origionaly posted by another member of Mathews forums. He posted the pics to simply show and tellhis story of what happeded to his bow.He was taken care of and is still a very happy Mathews Customer. When he posted the picslittle did he know thatanother guywho ever he was, was going to copy his pics and post them all over the net. It pissed a lot of people off including me, and with all the uproar several sites pulled the pics. I for one would love to meet this fellow that went out off his way to slamMathews, face to face and speak my mind to him. You can bet he wouldn't like me much after that! IMO what he didwas wrong plan and simple, all companys have there problems from time to time! Mathewsis no different, the inportant thing to remember is they fixed it right away,in additionthey let dealers know the proper way to press these new Drenalins. (Mathews determined that this bow was pressed wrong and it broke shortly after that.)If all the archers in thenorth americawere to go posting pics of everything that went wrong with there huntng bows, we wouldn't have enough time in the day toview it.

When they make it in a 7-1/2 inch brace height I will buy one.. Just something I prefer... But the bow is sweet and we are selling quite a few of them at the shop

The Mathews Switchback XT does have a 7.5" brace height, and is 31" ATA. The Drenalin and the origional Switchback have 33" ATA and 7" brace heights.

[quote]ORIGINAL: HUNGAR

My short story, told my lovely, beautiful, and understanding wife that I just wanted to go shoot a few bows. Shot three (XT, Vectrix and Drenalin). Went home and with much suck up bought the Drenalin the next day.

Chris you have to teach me your techniques LOL. My wife said "NO you kill enough with your bow, there is nothing wronw with it!" I as well shoot the Q2XL and still love it. I had it redone instead of buying the Drenalin. I did shoot it though and loved it while my new string and cables where being put on. Smooth and light. Maybe next year!!

Question for you HUNGAR Chris... Baja Acres still in business out your way? You don't have to post here PM me if you know.
