RE: Spouses Who Hunt?
Feel sorry for you guys that have someone you either "don't want to hunt" or has ANY kind of problem with hunting... I love it!!!!!!! I love that my BF and I do it together and/or apart.. took my first one this past year ... He was a little worried because I took a day off .. Woods by myself ... Took her, gutted her and drug her out by myself.. Very proud of it. Can't wait until I can get one up on the wall bigger than his biggest.

RE: Spouses Who Hunt?
I'm just going to be honest...and hope I don't get flamed.
My wife is a BEAUTIFUL lady. She's supportive of my endeavors....and I try to include her in anything SHE WANTS to be involved in. I've tried to get her to shoot bows....even targets, ONLY. She's not interested. She understands my passion....but it hold no interest for HER. She understands how seriously I take this endeavor, personally, and it holds no such interest FOR HER. She's also the first person I seek to tell about what I see in the woods. She LOVES hearing the stories of the things I see.....and she's evn hinted that she wants to go and observe. I'll set a ladder stand for her, this Fall.....and we'll see. I was once a PGA Professional.....and I asked her if she'd like to play golf with me. No dice. No interest, FOR HER. We spend LOTS of time together.....and I love her and our son more than anything. We just have different interests, SOMETIMES. We both also think this is healthy. I don't go out without her....nor she without me. I don't take long hunting trips/golf trips with "the boys". That holds no interest FOR ME. I love my wife very much. We just have different interests.......and we both agree that it's healthy. This is what works FOR US. I'm glad what others are doing works FOR THEM. There is NO "right" or "wrong" way for everyone. |

RE: Spouses Who Hunt?
My wife hunts & she is a good hunter. She has a Bull Moose on the wall, a 12-point whitetail buck at the taxidermist shop. She has taken several nice antelope bucks also.
I wonder what my hunting would be like IF she did not like tohunting? |

Hoytgirl:
I sincerely thank you. I was afraid people would give me a hard time because......in the back of my mind.....it bothers me NOT that she doesn't want to hunt. I don't even care that she doesn't want to shoot. I like that we have our own special interests that we do independently. Am I excluding her? Far from it. Do I REALLY want her to come hunting with me? Hard to say. I know it doesn't bother me that she doesn't. I'm just being honest. Thanks for not taking it the wrong way. |

For me... It's an amazing feeling having the one you love the most, be with you sharing the outdoors. My spouse&I love to hunt more than anything, and I thank god for everyday we get to spend together.
