The track is on a series of rollers. It has a rectangular bore to fit the carrier filled with shot. The carrier is loaded from the front end and is held against the string by a small spring. As you draw the bow, the track rolls back. You must hold the draw. When you are ready to shoot, you have the thrower release the pigeon and shoot. You must be quick and you must aim instinctively or you will miss.
If you notice the front end of the carrier, you will see small airfoils. As the carrier leaves the front end of the track, the air flow seperates the 2 carrier halves and the shot continues on in a pattern. The carrier halves flutter to the ground. Just pick them up to use over and over again.
The picture shows shot sizes between #6 shot and 44 caliber balls.
It is a riot to shoot.

I take it that the string runs down the side of the track like the rails of a crossbow? That definately looks like something a few people could have fun with for hours at a time. Neat idea.

No. The string goes through the center of the track. The track is extruded as one piece. The string slot is machined in by removing some of the material. The track still stays connected at the front and back keeping it lined up perfectly.
There is one harness line on each side of the track keeping everything centered.

No. Not at all! Keep in mind that there are no nocking points that will eventually cut the serving. Each harness is served only where they come into contact with the outside of the track.

I would love to see a video of you shooting that Designer 2. What a way to open up a persons archery lifestyle. The guys at my local skeet club wouldn't know what to think.
